The crew at Surf Anywhere makes an effort to travel to as many river waves as possible but Skookumchuck Narrows is a special kind of wave. Located in a tidal inlet, the tidal rapid creates massive river waves. As the ocean tide the inlet, the salt water runs over the mountainous terrain like a huge river. The result is one of the most coveted standing waves known in the river surf community. Neil Egsgard and Jacob Kelly Quinlan had already travelled to Skook many times when in 2015 they played host to surfers from Canada, the USA, Germany and Austria. Justin Gullickson, Ben Nielsen, Ryan Richard, Max Neuböck and Benjamin DiQual.
The group surfed in the days and used the evenings to discuss important topics involving the future of the sport of river surfing. A “meeting of the tribes” describes the conversations that arose with between some of the major community leaders from the US, Canada and Europe.
